Purpose

The primary purpose of the Interim Steering Committee (ISC) is to oversee the transition from the current structure and arrangements of SuSanA to the future ones of SuSanA 2.0, as laid out in the Concept Paper.

With this purpose, the ISC takes over decision making responsibilities from the Change Management Task Force (CMTF) which, in deciding on the final version of the Concept Paper has fulfilled its own purpose. With the successful establishment of the ISC, the CMTF has been dissolved.

One of the principal tasks of the ISC is to ensure the establishment of the Steering Committee (as detailed in the Concept Paper). Once the Steering Committee has been established, the ISC will hand over decision making responsibilities to the Steering Committee and will be dissolved.

Composition

The ISC consist of four individuals who, between them, reflect some of the key voices of the SuSanA membership. These four were selected by the CMTF, in a way that ensures some continuity of thinking from the CMTF’s work.

The CMTF ensured a reasonable degree of geographical spread and gender balance in the composition of the ISC, and ensured that those selected, between them, have the capacity to carry the confidence of SuSanA members.

The following people are members of the ISC: Susmita Sinha, Hiba Abu Al Rob, Alejandra Burchard-Levine and Christoph Luethi.

Functions

The ISC is the steering and decision-making body for the transition to SuSanA 2.0, tasking others as appropriate to ensure that the groundwork is carried out effectively. Further the ISC oversees, monitors and reflects on the ongoing change process. The committee serves not only as a controller but also as a consultancy which also develops, stimulates new ideas, inspirations, starts initiatives and motivates others to engage in the process

Meetings and commitments

The ISC will meet every fourteen days for 1.5 hours, with an agenda developed by its lead/chair in consultation with operational personnel. Frequency and duration of meetings will be revisited and adjusted as appropriate later in the process.

Members of the ISC should expect to attend all of these meetings, as far as possible; to take part in between-meeting correspondence and online decision-making with reasonable promptness; and to take lead responsibility for specific actions periodically.
