Skat is Swiss organisation that collaborates with others on research programmes. Skat was a project partner in the WASHtech project which was funded by the European Union from 2011 to 2013 and was undertaken in partnership with IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre, WaterAid, Cranfield University and partners in Burkina Faso, Ghana and Uganda. Skat developed the main project outputs: the Technology Applicability Framework (TAF) and the Guidelines for a Technology Introduction Process (TIP) which were tested in the three pilot countries. The TAF is a tool for decision makers to assess if a water or sanitation technology is applicable to their situation.
