To move beyond the aim of India's Swachh Bharat Mission of making cities Open Defecation Free (ODF) and support cities in Maharashtra to become ODF+
Additional support from CEPT is being requested by the government of Maharashtra and cities in Maharashtra.
There is also additional demand for extension of PAS in other states and sanitation planning tools developed by the CEPT needs to use in many small towns in India.
The project aims to move beyond the aim of India's Swachh Bharat Mission of making cities Open Defecation Free (ODF) and support cities in Maharashtra to become ODF+
On Sanitation related activities, CEPT has developed a measurement framework for on-site sanitation at city level. This is incorporated in PAS framework. A model for city-wide sanitation planning has been developed. Cities in Maharashtra are being supported in preparation of city sanitation plan and in implementing these plans. Capacity building tools on FSM has been developed. CEPT has been actively engaged in supporting Government of Maharashtra in implementing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in cities.
