Urban WASH coordination and planning remains a challenge. There is poor planning and coordination amongst key stakeholders resulting in inefficiencies in servicing urban populations with affordable WASH. Most of these institutions fail to account for their services. There is an increasing perception that inadequate practices limit their capacity to effectively deliver, manage and maintain inclusive and sustainable WASH services. The municipality, who is the custodian of the urban and small towns, is also characterised by limited capacity to coordinate and develop long-term plans for the sector.
The aim of this project is strengthened capacity of stakeholders to plan, manage and implement effective WASH programs on an equitable and sustainable basis.
