Giving access to drinking water for families and ensures a sustainable participative water management through women’s empowerment
The project supports the rehabilitation of water systems in An-Oston village, Issyk Kul region, Kyrgyzstan.
With the help of the Water Agency Artois-Picardie and the Municipality of St. Omer the project ensures rehabilitation of the water supply system and direct home connexion for 225 households. Access to water not only improves the hygiene of these families but also frees up time for education and other income-generating activities. A community based water management committee will be put in place with strong involvement of women, who will be trained in different domains.
