Who is this Manual for?
Resource agencies engaged in training potential master trainers to facilitate and scale up
community-driven total sanitation.
AusAID provides WSP-SA programmatic support.
This Training Manual is based on a training curriculum developed by Mr. Kamal Kar, initiator of community-driven total sanitation in rural areas. This curriculum has been through extensive field testing and our sincere thanks to all members of village communities, who contributed generously with their time and efforts to participate in discussions and PRA exercises. In addition, both the curriculum and guidance notes have been refined based on a series of policy discussions, workshops and interactions with national, state and local governments and expert practitioners in South Asia. The Training Manual was developed and written through collaboration with WSP’s partner resource agencies,
Knowledge Links and Feedback Ventures. The publication of this Manual was supported by Ms. Vandana Mehra, Regional Communications Specialist, WSP-SA.
