A holistic approach helps the Valley View University (VVU), a private Ghanaian institution, to develop towards a sustainable eco-university. Ecolocical cycles, ecological settling and buildings and encompassing quality management are included in the concept. The cycles are closed locally, bringing collected urine and greywater to the close-by VVU-agric area for example. Intensive training and the establishment of an ecological engineering study are part of the endeavours. As a preliminary result it can be stated, that the holistic approach is essential for the sustainability of such projects and in the case of Valley View University was largely successful so far.
