As the official European opening of the International Year of Sanitation, 120 participants met in Brussels on the 29th of January 2008 to address the problem of more than 20 million European citizens who do not have access to safe sanitation.
This report gives you an overview of the presentations and discussions held at the 29th of January, at the first European event in the Year of Sanitation. WECF (Women in Europe for a Common Future) organised this event in cooperation with Global Water Partnership, European Water Partnership, KIWA and the Coalition Clean Baltic. We were very happy with the high level participation of many important players in the field, and the excellent presentations from a wide range of experts.
