Based on Eawag’s Compendium of Sanitation Systems and Technologies, CLUES, Sanitation21 and the FSM book, the course provides an overview of the various sanitation systems and technologies, key planning principles and the necessary enabling environment for sanitation projects in low- and middle-income areas.
Participants learn how to select and design appropriate options to improve sanitation in urban and peri-urban settlements. Further issues covered are appropriate faecal sludge management options and integrated sanitation planning at city and neighbourhood level.
This course will be recorded and can be viewed time-delayed over the Internet at a reduced course fee.
The course takes place on 30th June - 1st July 2016 in Dübendorf (Zurich, Switzerland).
Course Fee: CHF 700.– fee includes taxes, course material, lunch, refreshments during the coffee / tea breaks and a social event on Thursday evening.
Other meals and hotel accommodation are not included.
