SuSanA Wikipedia Edit-a-thon for World Water Day 2017

Join us in virtual space on 19-21 March 2017 for a Wikipedia edit-a-thon (lasting 48 hours) to improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) topics ahead of World Water Day on 22 March 2017.

Wikipedia is what the world reads! It is in your power to ensure that they read the right information about WASH topics. Joins us on the occasion of World Water Day (which is on 22 March) for a 2-day edit-a-thon just prior to World Water Day to collectively make a big push to improve Wikipedia’s content on WASH topics!

What: SuSanA Wikipedia Edit-a-thon for World Water Day 2017

When: 19-21 March 2017

Where: Wherever you and your computer are.

Who: You. On behalf of the 2.5 billion people without toilets

How: Work solo or with friends nearby or in the edit-a- thon virtual chatroom

Why: To learn about sanitation, the public depends on Wikipedia, which gets 500 million visits a day.

In which language:
Many of us will work on the English Wikipedia articles but the other language Wikipedias should also be improved! Therefore how about helping with translation work for example into Arabic, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Odia, Portugese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Urdu, Yoruba...

Venue:
Your own desk but be connected to other Wikipedia editors and SuSanA members by using a virtual workroom via Adobe Connect. We will provide the link to the Adobe Connect virtual work room to all registered participants.

Date & time:
The room will open on Sunday 19 March at 12 noon and stay open for 48 hours until Tuesday 21 March at 12 noon (the times given are London time zones; Check your local time here: www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html).

Members of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance working on a Knowledge Management project led by Stockholm Environment Institute in a consortium with GIZ, Oxfam GB and WaterAid.
