Every three years, the World Water Forum mobilizes creativity, innovation, and know-how around water. Serving as a stepping-stone towards global collaboration on water challenges, the Forum is a unique multistakeholder platform where the water community and the policy and decision makers from all regions of the world can work together to find joint solutions. It is the largest international event which seeks to advance the cause of water. The 7th World Water Forum will give Korea an opportunity to become a leader in the water sector. The specific topic of the 2015 edition is “Innovation for access to water, energy and sanitation in the face of global changes”.
n 2015, the World Water Forum, the largest water-related event in the world will take place in Daegu & Gyeongbuk of Korea. The World Water Forum is a large-scale international conference that is held every three years since 1997 in cooperation with the public, private sectors, academia, and industries. It was first launched in an effort to facilitate international discussions on global water challenges.
Water is one of the most basic element for the survival and happy life of humanity. However, many people around the world are suffering from water shortage and poor sanitation. Also, water issues have been a major concern in the 21st Century.
At this juncture, it is highly significant that Korea will host the 7th World Water Forum, where stakeholders from about 170 nations gather in Daegu & Gyeongbuk to discuss water challenges. In particular, the Science & Technology Process is newly included in the 7th Forum in order to make sure the implementation of solutions drawn from the previous editions of the Forum.
