This online event will explore a new approach for water resources management looking into water reuse in the context of a circular economy. This approach focuses mainly on linking water inputs and outputs in a more holistic structure, which can be beneficial to addressing both global and localized water scarcity but also more broader goals for a sustainable future.
Techniques and approaches to better manage water resources are needed to meet the challenges of climate change, population growth and economic production. Water reuse is essential because supply is limited. Like other natural resources, water must be used within an economy that values its repeated reuse in order to gain full advantage of the resource while minimizing the need for new extractions and new sources. There are many challenges to fully implement water reuse by communities, industry, and agriculture but successful case studies have demonstrated that these challenges can be overcome.
