CALL FOR PAPERS till the 30th of September:
Extreme weather events like severe droughts and floods are increasingly affecting the world, underscoring the urgent need of addressing the effects of climate change. This global crisis poses significant threats to both to water and food security, particularly as temperatures rise and agriculture's demand for water intensifies. Rivers are drying up, aquifers are not recharging adequately, and coastal areas are experiencing higher salinity and rising sea levels, putting immense pressure on the global water management systems. Farmers struggle to maintain their crops, while city residents worry about the stability of their food supply.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the International Conference: Water and Food Security in the Face of Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Resilience, to be held from 4 - 7 February 2025
Addressing these challenges requires adopting sustainable practices with the use of technology that can withstand the unpredictable impacts of climate change. Improving how we manage both land and water resources is crucial to preparing for future challenges. Developing effective policies starts with a deep understanding of how climate change is impacting water and food resources.
It is thus essential to craft strategies that not only help local communities adapt but also contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Despite these daunting challenges, there are opportunities to enhance our resilience. Rethinking water management strategies, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, and integrating innovative technologies can play a critical role in conserving resources and preventing future crises.
This international conference provides a critical platform for collaboration and will convene experts, policymakers, researchers, and community leaders to exchange ideas and innovations. Together, we aim to develop solutions that address the immediate impacts of climate change while building a more resilient future for global water and food security.
To help achieve this aim, the conference will focus on the following:
1. Showcasing national and international initiatives to improve the resilience of water and food security through novel, innovative, and advanced state-of-the-art technologies.
2. Exploring future challenges and opportunities to sustainably achieve water and food security during climate change.
3. Providing policy recommendations to enhance and achieve water and food security.
4. Building long-term partnerships and collaborations to develop future water and food management practices.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the International Conference: Water and Food Security in the Face of Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Resilience, to be held from 4 - 7 February 2025
