On Monday 16 November a SuSanA-side event focusing on "Tools for Sustainability" took place.
The event was visited by approx. 50 people and opened by a keynote speech form the president of the Inter-American Association on Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (AIDIS), Mr. Carlos Alberto Rosito. This was followed by the presentations highlighting materials from working groups on food security, health and hygiene and cost and economics and ended with an interview on how to make the materials more useful and a lively audience discussion.
During 15-19 November 2009 the 1st IWA Development Congress with focus on what works in water and sanitation service provision in developing countries - took place in Mexico City, Mexico. The Congress aimed to build bridges between sector professionals and brought together approx. 400 experts working in different regions, different organizations and with different approaches to water and sanitation service delivery.
